"Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them." - Timothy Gallwey

Dawn Mitchell

“I started CrossFit in 2012. I was very overweight and very limited on what I could do physically. I saw CrossFit online and wanted to try it. I was nervous and scared. I was met by strong encouraging people who pushed me to succeed and inspired me to keep going. I have gone on to loose 120 pounds and become a level 1 coach. My heart is helping people achieve what they never dreamed they could do. Anything is possible!” – Coach Dawn

Jennifer Denise

Jen has always been involved in athletics, from soccer to basketball to swimming but took to running in high school and kept pursuing her limits in the sport into her thirties. After a serious injury while trail running, she stumbled across CrossFit in January of 2013 and thought it would be a great supplement to stay fit until she was fully cleared to run again. Once back into running shape she could see a clear benefit of the CrossFit training had on her running so she stuck with it. In 2015, I decided to get my L1 and help coach at my box in Johnson City, TN. Being a teacher and high school coach, it was a natural fit to coach CrossFit as well. Having just moved to Chattanooga in August 2016, I jumped around the different boxes but keep coming back to CrossFit Ooltewah because of the people and atmosphere. I truly believe that anyone can find success in CrossFit, and I love the community that I have found at CrossFit Ooltewah. Jen also has 13 years of Coaching High School Track and Cross Country athletes. "I love helping people to improve not only their physical self but the mental aspect as well!" - Coach Jen

Cody Cramer

Cody has been involved in sports his whole life. He tore his labrum in the fall of 2014 at football practice but pushed off getting it checked out until the following year, which concluded in him having surgery on his left shoulder, September 30th, 2015. The operation kept him out of the gym for 6 months. He says, "I honestly thought I'd never be as active once I got clearance from the doctor. I had a gut feeling about this CrossFit Ooltewah place I kept hearing about around the area so I decided to drop in for a class in March of 2015. I immediately had a connection with the people and the gym. It was only 5 months later that I received my CrossFit Level 1, and I was able to start coaching and helping others with their fitness journey. I have a burning desire for the sport, the gym, and being the best coach I can be. CrossFit for me isn't just a fitness fad, it's a way of life. The most important thing I'd like to stress to new comers is that CrossFit is for EVERYBODY. One of my favorite quotes, "Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear." I'm here to tell you that statement is as true for you as it was for me. CrossFit Ooltewah is my home away from home, its my sanctuary." - Coach Cody

He is a graduate of Silverdale Baptist Academy and is currently an undergraduate student pursing his Bachelors’ degree at Lee University. He joined CrossFit Ooltewah in the summer of 2015. “You will never know what you are capable of until you try. And failures are not the end; they are simply steps toward success. CrossFit Coach

Jen Stachowicz

FitCamp Coach/Director

"I spent 14 years of my childhood as a ballet dancer and softball player. I’ve done full/half marathons and even a few triathlons and though I still enjoy running, my first love has grown to be the sport of CrossFit. To me CrossFit is a community like no other. It allows you to improve your health, gain endurance, strength, flexibility, create lasting friendships, obtain a support system outside of your family and so much more all while having fun! I contribute much of my growth battling and conquering a 5 year eating disorder. As a coach, this has helped me tremendously in sharing my story with others as many people I’ve coached have struggles with diet to some degree. I've grown stronger as a person and is my hope that I can continue to encourage others through sharing my story. Strong truly is the new skinny and am thankful that CrossFit is changing the “ideal” of beauty for women. I started up a Bootcamp program back at my old CrossFit Box in Florida which grew to be over 150 athletes! Since moving to Chattanooga, I’ve had the honor to work alongside great coaches at CrossFit Ooltewah and helping them create and start their own FitCamp program. As a wife and mom to two boys who are also a part of the CrossFit community, it is my goal more now than ever to lead by example on how to live a healthy life. This journey is a marathon not a sprint so enjoy the process. “It’s all about the journey, not the outcome. – Carl Lewis” – Coach Jen
